Rainbow Lapis brings to you a series of workshops bringing you back to the basics of the creation of food – specifically, that of our local heritage confections. From edible flowers and leaves, to understanding different types of sugars, to watching how mussels are seeded and harvested, this year, Rainbow Lapis seeks to bring our participants on a journey from farm to (kueh) fork. Details on the 3 sessions as follow:

Blue Pea Flower Tea

  1. Bring water to a boil and remove from heat.
  2. Add Butterfly Pea Flowers and allow to steep in water until cooled.
  3. Stir in honey or Pandan leaves as desired. Remove flowers before serving.
(Optional) Pour into glasses filled with crushed ice.

Tips: The blue colour gets stronger the longer you leave it in your cup of tea. Try a squeeze of lemon for a purple colour change. Have fun and enjoy!

Did you know: Blue Pea flowers are full of antioxidant and can help combat premature aging! It is also said to improve immune system, manage weight, reduce stress and anxiety.
